1. What is the idea?

The idea is simple: to try and make $1m (US) by selling 1,000,000 pixels for $1 each. Hence, "The Million Pixel Creators page". The main motivation for doing this is to raise funds which I can use to develop a video production management software “MAGPIIE” which is exclusively curated for content creators. We already approached a lot of investors for the pre-seed stage but it's a slow and sluggish process and I want to win the race against time and develop the software as soon as possible . I don't want to give up on the idea which I have been working on for the last two years due to the lack of funding.

So, everyone is welcome to buy my pixels, which are available in 100-pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 10x10 pixels). You will see the creator page is divided into 10,000 of these 100-pixel blocks (hence there are 1,000,000 pixels in total). The reason for selling them in 100-pixel blocks is because anything smaller would be too small to display anything meaningful.

You can buy as many pixels as you like, as long as there are some available (see the live stats in the top right corner of the page). When you buy some pixels, you can then display a Youtube channel logo of your channel in the space you have purchased. You can also have the image click-through link to your own Youtube channel or the video you want to promote. However, no obscene or offensive images are allowed.

The pixels you buy will be displayed on the creatorspage permanently. The creatorspage will not change. Using some of the money I make from the site, I guarantee to keep it online for at least 5 years, but hopefully much longer. I want it to become a kind of internet time space of Youtube channels & videos. So, in the long run, I believe the pixels will offer good value. You will have a piece of Youtube history!

3. Are you genuine/is this a joke?

I am completely genuine and although this site might be funny in various ways, it is not a joke! I really am selling pixels for $1 each, because creators are already spending a huge amount in advertising their content to reach a larger audience.Here they can spend a bare minimum amount and channel logo will stay on creators page for at least 5 years! I am pixel hustler and proud!

4. How did you come up with the idea?

While working on development of magpie my professional life had been through lots of ups and down. There was a time when I was the only one left after my co-founders parted away due to indifference . I also lost the opportunity to raise 1m $ from a Germany based VC due to visa related issues. I didn't give up and build up my team again. just before a month of launch of the mvp of magpiie, our Tech lead left due to family health issues.

When everything seems crashing down and life was on a full on resistance mode, one late night in winter, i was thinking about finding an unique way to raise funding which also can capture people’s imagination & also add value, but should be fun at the same time! with the whole purpose of raising funding and the idea of millionpixelcreatorspage comes in my mind.

After an hour or two I jolted down things on paper. the idea seemingly popped out of nowhere. Almost like my subconscious mind had been ticking over in the background, working it all out. So i scribbled down it on sticky note paper and within few minutes a picture of what needed to be done has emerged.

5. Why do you need $1m for Your Startup?

I don't. I need initial funding to develop mvp from the concept that I have, software development is expensive, but with this project I knew I had to aim high - my thinking being that even if I only got 1 or 2 percent of a million dollars, that would sort me out.

6. What will you do with the money?

First and foremost, I'll build the video production management software and release it. As developing a SaaS application is a costly affair and marketing is also going to take a handful of money, I will spend most of the money in developing and launching the product. If I still have some left, I will reinvest in creating & developing more products that can benefit content creators. After that, I would like to pay for my parents to have some time off because they work so hard and they deserve a break. I would like to return some form of the support they have given me over all these years.

7. Why should I buy your pixels?

Because you will get a chance to put your Youtube channel logo and a link to your Youtube channel homepage or link to your most favourite video of your channel on the CreatorsPage of this site that could potentially be seen by millions of people over the coming years. The site will be online for at least 5 years, that's guaranteed, but the idea is to keep it online forever. So you really could own a piece of 'Youtube Creators pixel wall'!

8. Why can't I buy one single pixel?

I decided that although it would probably be cool if individuals could buy a single pixel each, in practice, it wouldn't be so effective. The reason I believe this is because you can't display anything meaningful in one pixel - nor click it easily - so visually, it would be pointless. With thousands of random tiny coloured dots all over the place, the creatorspage would look gastly.

I also thought that the site would appeal more to content creators & brands which are spending a lot on advertising to reach larger audience, At the same time it gives opportunity to even growing creatos to promote their channel in a same space of the popular creators & brands. Hence the minimum purchase is $100 for a 10 px x 10px block.

However! If you really want to own a single pixel, there is always the option of clubbing together with your friends/family/colleagues and buying a 10x10 block.

9. How long will the site be online?

The site will be online for 5 years guaranteed (at least until 26th April 2029), however the aim is to keep the site online forever (or as long as humanly possible).

The idea is to create something of a Youtube time capsule: a Creators Page that is unique and permanent. Everything on Youtube keeps changing so fast, it will be nice to have creators & their best creation that stays solid and permanent for many years. You can be a part of that!

10. If you want money for your startup, why don't you find an investor?

Although I've already contacted several investors, it's a time consuming process & it needs hard luck to find an investor in a pre-seed stage. My natural disposition is to think of ideas, and I like to create interesting things and ways of doing things. Plus this is much more fun to do, with a potential higher reward. That's not a cop-out, honest guy!
